-We are on pins & needles waiting to find out exactly how long it will be until Emily arrives. I am having to repeat my 24hr protein test because the lab somehow LOST my last one. How someone can manage to lose a jug of pee, I have no clue! So I am redoing that, turning it on Wednesday morning & will have the results back at my next appointment on Monday. If my protein levels are out of wack then Emily will be arriving sometime next week. She is measuring 40wks instead of 36! And weighing in at 8lb 7oz which is GIGANTIC for her gestational age!! So hopefully the measurments are off and she comes out no bigger than 8lbs! :) We shall wait and see.

Thanksgiving Thursday

Today I am oh so very thankful for such a wonderful husband, beautiful daughter and the blessing of carrying another life, who will be here before we know it! I am thankful for such awesome family and amazing friends. I am thankful for having a running vehicle that gets us where we need to go and is plenty big enough to accomidate us. I am thankful for the roof over our heads and the food that is on the table daily. I am thankful for the clothes on our back and the amazing life i've been given. I am thankful for the gift of living in the United States of America!! I am mostly thankful for the ability to celebrate whatever holiday I want, and with whom I want. I AM SO THANKFUL!! What are you thankful for today?

Week 35

I can't believe in 3 short weeks [on Monday] we will have our newest baby girl here with us! It's still so surreal. I feel like it will never come & once December 14 gets here, I will wake up & it will all have been a dream. Crazy I know.

35 weeks

-Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Just Because

Mackenzie & I decided to bake a cake last week, just because. We always have lots of fun baking together & she is a master decorator. =) Here's the end result:

Nothing fancy but it was Mackenzie's delicious art work & I just had to share.

She is very excited to start baking Christmas cookies & all the goodies that go along with the holidays. And I must admit, I can't wait either!

UPDATES

As of tomorrow we will only have four weeks left until we meet Emily! I have a scheduled c-section for Tuesday, December 14 @ 7:30am. I asked Dr. Peet to get me the earliest c-section available. :D I didn't want to wait all day. We are so very excited to meet her and I seriously can not believe there is only four weeks left until she's here.

Mackenzie goes back to her new doctor Thursday to enjoy one more shot & the flu vaccine. I fight with myself everyday on whether to let her get the flu vaccine or not, but I want her to be safe, especially against the N1H1 virus. And with a baby about to come into the house with us, I think it's the safest thing to do.

Thanksgiving is a little over a week away! I can not believe it's so close! [closer than Emily!] I am looking forward to the very first Thanksgiving at my moms. For my stepdad's side of the family it is usually held at his mom's house, but she passed away earlier this year. So, it is going to be held at my mom's house. This should be very interesting seeing as there's about 100 of us. [i'm exagerating, ofcourse...I think.] I know for sure there will be at least 9 kids there. As long as there is green bean casserole, we're good. :D

33wks [tomorrow, 11/6/10]

33 WEEKS

Tomorrow I will be 33 weeks pregnant. According to Babycenter.com Emily should be the size of a pineapple, but i'm pretty sure she's bigger than that seeing as she is weighing in right below 6lbs already!!! Either way, I love her lots & enjoy feeling her move around in there. It's hard to believe that in 5 weeks & 4 days our baby girl will be here! We can not wait to meet her!

New Pediatrician

Tuesday I took Mackenzie to a long overdue doctor appointment. Since the last time I took her to her pediatrician, we had Medicade, I had to find her a new doctor. [We've had Insurance through Matt's job for a while now] So the new pediatrician, Dr. Harrin was called & we got to meet him. He is AMAZING & so is his office! I hadn't realized that Mackenzie was behind on her shots so the poor girl had to get some shots in. :( She goes back on the 18th for the flu vaccine & one more shot, then she'll be done until her next birthday. Before the shots came Mackenzie did her hearing and seeing test along with the routine weigh-in, blood pressure & height check. She was having so much fun doing it all! She passed her hearing test with flying colors. She did amazing! The nurse said her sight was about 20/40 & that most 5 year olds sight is about 20/30...i'm not too worried and will take the next step if she is showing signs of sight issues once she starts school. Dr. Harrin will also be Emily's pediatrician & he is very excited to be having a new baby to see.
I wanted so badly to take pictures of Mackenzie at the doctor office, but thought that might destract her from her sight and hear tests, so I restrained myself. Maybe next time! :)

Halloween Weekend/ Dr. Appointment

This weekend was alot of fun.

It started out with 2 of my nieces & my nephew coming over to stay for awhile so my brother & his wife could go to dinner with her parents. Since it was Halloween weekend, I decided to make them goody bags to enjoy. I baked some cookies to put in their bags & bought some really cute, but GIANT suckers and some random candy to put in the bags. They really liked them!

I didn't get a chance to take any pictures of them with their bags because they wouldn't stay in one place long enough! =)

Saturday morning we headed out to the mall to get Mackenzie's hair cut @ Snip Its. That place is A-MAZING!!! I don't know that we will take Mackenzie any other place ever again. They were absolutely amazing with her & Mackenzie loved the lady who cut her hair. Definitely worth every penny!

And ofcourse you can't go to the mall and NOT ride the carousel!

Sunday was Halloween & Mackenzie was oh so ready to get her candy on!!! She was a black cat this year & everyone thought she was Cat Woman. :) She just nodded and said yes. I can't wait until next year when she has a little sister to show the ropes to.

She wanted to pose next to allt he pretty flowers at her great grandparents church, so ofcourse, we had to let her! The flowers were so pretty.

My doctor appointment today went good. My blood pressure is a little elevated, but nothing like when I was pregnant with Mackenzie. Emily is weighing in at 5lbs 14oz...that's almost 6 POUNDS people! I can't believe she is already so big. Matt called it from the start. I start going back every week now, so i'll be going again next Monday to be monitored for an hour to check for contractions, and the next appointment i'll have another ultrasound then the next monitored and so on. I'm secretly hoping she decides to come the first week of December, so we'll see. =)
