Week 19

Well, the baby didn't show us the goods yesterday. :( But thats okay. We go back September 2nd for another ultrasound and doctor appointment. The ultrasound technician said she THINKS its another girl, but can't be 100% sure, so i'm pretty excited at that news. Although Matt almost had a little melt down in the office when he heard that. I think he is going to be just fine. We finally setteled on names, for both a boy and girl. Matt has been very difficult with the naming process but finally said yes to both boy and girl names. Thank the lord!

Boy: Dylan Tyler
Girl: Emily Grace

I am really excited about possibly having another girl! And everyone pray really hard that this stubborn kid shows us everything next time, whether its a boy or girl! :)

Everything is going well. Other than a no show at the u/s, the baby is doing well. HB was 134 and our baby weighs 10oz. I gained more weight than I would have liked to..but i'm definatly going to be really watching what I eat to try to stay under 20lbs. Don't know if i'll be able to, but I can sure try!

How Far Along: 19 wks

Total Weight Gain: 7lbs

Maternity Clothes: yes

Gender: have to wait ANOTHER 5 weeks.

Movement: some

Food Craving: pizza

What I miss: being able to bend over comfortably

Sleep: has been good to me lately.

What I am looking forward to: registering for my shower.

Big Sister:is ready for the baby to be here NOW!

Week 19

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

  1. Love the names! I said the same thing about the weight gain, and I'm already at 19! LOL! It's so easy to not feel guilty when you're pregnant!

  2. I know! This will be our last baby, so after I get the okay from my doc I will be working out and attempting to lose the weight, so I want to gain as little as possible! I don't have much room for error! ;)
